Comment Subscriptions

  In the past week, when I subscribe to a comment thread on another blog I get an email asking me to click a link to authorize the subscription. This is new…..have been subscribing to blog comments for years….When clicking this link, it brings me to the .wordpress.com blog that I do not use and says “subscription NOT activated.” Why the change and why is it not activating?
