Comment that I can’t delete – doesn’t show in comments log Help!

Hopefully the subject explains all! I know the comment is there because I can see it on my dashboard, and its there in the post itself. I also know its advertising so I want to delete it. Thing is – it doesn’t show up as a post in my editor. What can I do?

It shouldn’t show up as a post.
It should be under dashboard -> comments.
Unless I’m totally misunderstanding you.

Yes you’ve misunderstood me. It isn’t a post – its a comment to a post, but it doesn’t show up if I go into ‘Comments’, so I can’t delete it.

That’s weird. Have you checked in “awaiting moderation”? Give us a link to the post it appears on so we can take a look.

If this comment appears on the front of the blog and you are using the k2 lite theme then simply got to that comment box and click “edit”. Once you open the comment to edit it you will find the option to delete it is available.

Also note that when you are on the dashboard side of your blog there are two rows of buttons. In the top row you see Comments this refers to comments made on your blog posts. And it is also the one we are discussing here. In the second row you see My Comments. This one is not the one we are discussing. It’s a reord of comments you left on other wordpress.com blogs.
I left a test comment on the most recent post on your blog as a a test.Please delete it.

Timetheif – thank you. I found your test comment, went to the editor and deleted it. A weird thing happened – your test comment somehow made the other ‘rogue’ comment show up in the editor, too, so I’ve now managed to delete that one as well. Phew!
I wonder how it happened? -
Sometimes this weird thing happens. I do not know why but I’m sure glad you have resolved this issue. The Option to mark this “resolved” is found in your original post.
