Commentbox not showing on homepage
-
My first article is shown on the homepage. On that page the commentbox is not shown under the article. Only when I open the article the commentbox is shown. I can’t get it right. What am I doing wrong, how do I show the commentbox on the homepage as well?
Thanks

Hi ERic,
Your blog is operating correctly. When we click a post tile the comment box appears below the post. That’s normal behavior and “no” you cannot change it. -
Hi There!
If you’re interested the P2 theme on the other hand does show comments on the home page it’s the only theme currently here that does…
-
Ah, ok so it’s the theme that is preventing the commentbox to show up in the article on the homepage. Shame they did not mention that before I installed this nice template :-)
Thanks for the answer -
The theme Slik points to is made for Twitter-like conversations . There are only two like it and Prologue is the other one. However, I don’t think either one ill not suit your content and as I said above, the comment box not displaying until we open the post is normal behavior on themes. .

I understand your point timethief. Can I then ask you how I can only display the first part of the article, so that the reader has to go to the article where the commentbox is.? Seems that the ‘excerpt’part could be used for that but I have no idea how to do that.
Sorry for the simple questions but I’m new to this :-) -
To achieve your goal you will need to use the more tag → Splitting Content » The More Tag
-
I believe what you want is called “the more tag” and it’s one way we have of splitting content . How to do it is explained here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/more-tag/
Others ways so split content > http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/
P.S. Dodn’t apologize for asking questions when the searchbox and support docs do suffice. . When arrived here 4 years ago I asked questions from morning to night every day of the week and … lol :D And, the answers to my questions and questions others posed became the foundation for the first FAQs, which is now subsumed by the support documentation found here > http://en.suppoer.wordpress.com
-
Sorry about the bad link to the support documentation . Here’s the correct one > http://en.support.wordpress.com

Thanks a lot timethief and slikbonez. I’ll have something to figure out tomorrow.
I’m sure I’ll end up with a great looking and functional blog.Be well and may the force be with you :-)
