commenting in my blog

  Hi all, I am new to WordPress and would like some clarification before I start developing my blog.
  I want to know if it is possible for users to post comments on my blog, without neccassarily needing to directly reply to my posts.
  Can this happen, or will this require a plug-in, if it even exists?

  Comments have to be assigned to something such as a page or post, otherwise they just float in space as orphans.

  You can set up a contact page that they can use to easily contact you with comments or questions that don’t pertain to a specific page or post.

  If you use the contact form, make sure and disable comments for that particular page otherwise there will be two text entry areas.
