commenting issues on othe blogs

Seems to work properly now – behaves differently than it did before, but i don’t have to use a bogus Blogger blog to do it. Thanks for taking us seriously! I hope this fix stays fixed!

I’m still getting the ‘you do not own this identity’ problem, and I can’t post an identity photo either – I confirm that I have made it ridiculously small and it is .jpg). I see that none of the last 11 people joining on the blog-site concerned – Compare the Marsh Tit – have posted photos either, nor have there been any comments from those people since the blogger resumed a few days ago after a gap of a year.
I’ve tried posting on cfjeanjean’s site but there is no window to do so. -
@vcc3 — I’m sorry you’re still having trouble with this. Can you share a link to the blog you’re trying to comment on?
Also, can you please let me know exactly what steps you take when you try to comment (what comment option you select, what you enter there, etc.)? That will help me investigate this.

Here’s the link to the blog: http://comparethemarshtit.blogspot.co.uk/
I type in the comments box, am invited to ‘comment as’, select WordPress, put in the name vcc3, (but have also tried vcc and Josquine, with the same results), press Publish, and am told I do not own that identity.
The only way I can post a comment is by using ‘Unknown’ and I don’t want to do an anonymous comment. I know the blog writer and want him to know the comment comes from me. -
Thanks for explaining those details. The issue is that when you select WordPress on a Blogger blog like that, it verifies your identity using OpenID, which checks that you own the site at that address. (So, in your case, it’s checking for the site at vcc3.wordpress.com.)
However, you don’t own any sites, so there isn’t a way to verify your identity that way. One way to fix that is to create the site at vcc3 here:
https://signup.wordpress.com/signup/
Once you own that site, OpenID will be able to verify your identity by checking that.

Thank you, that’s worked.
But I still have one problem I’m afraid. I cannot add a photo to my profile. I’ve made the picture I want to use ridiculously small, and it *is* a .jpg, but I still keep getting the message ‘Perhaps not a .jpg, or perhaps too big’.
Can you help please? -
@vcc3 — Can you please start a new forum thread with your new question? That way this thread will stay focused on the commenting issue, and you can get help separately with your profile photo. Thanks!

I have done so, but no-one is answering: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/impossible-to-add-photo-to-profile?replies=2#post-2161633
