Commenting on a blogger blog
-
A friend of mine started a blog on Blogger (where I used to be). I wanted to comment on his post and tried to do it using my wordpress UID. But I keep getting a message that I “don’t own” that name.
Of course, I do.
What do you suggest? I’m not signed in to google or anything except email, which WP already has.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The problem is no on this end and no solution can be provided by WordPress.com It’s a long standing problem. The solutions are:
(1) the Blogger blogger sets their comment so accept username and URL so you can comment;
(2) you get a Blogger blog that you don’t use so you can comment;
(3) you try Open Id which is hit and miss. -
Well, that is certainly typical of the “google takes over the world” aspect of the company. I had a Google blog, but it appeared to me and all the world that it was associated with my personal email account, not my gmail account. When I closed the gmail account (it was only temporary while I moved back from overseas) my blogs were deleted as well. Thank you, very much, Google!

The software they use for Blogger blogs assumes that I have the blog that matches my username. I deleted that blog years ago. I have two blogs on their own domains being domain mapped by WordPress.com but the Blogger comments software will not accept the correct URLs for them so I can comment. My friends with Blogger blogs have made their comments selection for requiring username and URL and I can comment on Blogger blogs where that’s the selection made. Otherwise I have to comment using a Blogger username linked to an empty Blogger blog, rather than linking to my active blogs being hosted by WordPress.com on their own domains. :(
