Commenting on another WordPress blog?

How can I comment on another WordPress blog posting? When I receive an email announcing a new posting on a blog, I click on the headline to go the posting. Then I might want to comment. But I’m apparently not allowed, because my email address is associated with my WordPress account. Seems unnecessary and confusing.

Okay, I think you could do better than that — since you’re trying to communicate with a non-techy. If I log in at WordPress.com, is that it? So I can minimize my dashboard, and go back to where I was — namely, trying to comment on a blog posting that is sitting right in front of me on my screen? Or do I somehow get from my WordPress.com log-in page to the blog I was trying to read in the first place? Please try to take a minute or so to think about my question before you answer.

Correct, just log in at http://wordpress.com/ first, then go back to comment.
