Commenting on non-blog articles

In want to incorporate a wordpress blog into an existing website. In addition to having a blog section within the website, I’d like to use the wordpress “comment” functionality to allow readers to comment on articles outside the blog section. Those articles are managed by a separate content management system. Does anyone know if that’s possible? Thanks!

No, it’s not. You can’t use the WordPress functionality in other than a WordPress blog…it just doesn’t transfer. You can use plugins or whatever kind of coding you like to try to add that similar functionality to your website, though I wouldn’t know where to recommend you start looking…other than Google.
