Commenting on other blogs

It’s important to me to be able to comment on other blogs.

Repeatedly, despite having a gravatar, when I post on other blogs I’m asked for my email and wordpress username. But when I log in it still refuses to post my comment, and the comment disappears and I have to retype it. This happens every time. Sometimes I don’t get to post a comment and sometimes I have to try up to 5 times.

My twitter account also appears at the bottom as the default website address (to go with my comment). i want the wordpress blog to be the default. But even when I try to post a comment, accepting the twitter account as default it still won’t post my comment first time. This is an impossible situation. How can I resolve it? Thanks.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

If that is not the case please provide the URLs of the blogs you cannot comment on. Be aware that WordPress.ORG installs are not a part of the WordPress.COM community. The two are completely separate and require separate logins.

Hi, thanks. I’ve read your message and hope that the issues will be resolved shortly. However, I’m not sure that this is why the problems are occurring in my case.

They only happen when I have to log in to WordPress in advance to post a comment on another person’s (WordPress) blog. I posted a comment earlier on someone’s WordPress blog with no problem but no logon was required.

Below are the URLs of 2 blogs I tried to comment on today with no success. Both are WordPress, both require logon. And in both cases a message came up afterwards to the effect that

You are unable to comment [or similar].

Your help would be much appreciated.

Please clarify. Are you in the UK?

Yes, I am, and if you’re going to say that’s the only explanation, then could you please:

    a) give me any ideas how long (days, weeks) before the problem is sorted
    b) advise on whether logging on with a different client eg Twitter app would solve the problem.

I use this facility as part of my work, not just for enjoyment so it’s quite crucial! Thanks again.

    Hi there

In that case, why did you ask me to

“please provide the URLs of the blogs you cannot comment on”

and ask if I was in the UK.

    I don’t follow. Please explain
