commenting on wordpress blogs, not linking back to my blog

I have searched out FAQ. I have entered my web URL in the web part of my profile. I have pressed ‘update profile’. When I leave a comment on another wordpress blog, it is not linking back to me. It shows up as http://////
Not sure what to do next.

No, show us a link to a blog where you posted a comment and it didn’t link to your blog.

It is the comment about half way down the page… the one with the pearls in the avatar. I made new comments, adding my URL in the webpart of the comments, but now my avatar doesn’t show up. When I first made a comment, it had me already logged in with my username, and didn’t ask for my URl/web address. The 2nd time, I was not logged in (to my blog), and so was asked to manually enter it on the other bloggers comments section. I was hopping it would just automatically link back to my blog, without having to log out and enter comments.

I think they only show up if you’re NOT logged in when you have an OpenID or Gravatar. Looking at the sourcecode for that, I don’t see any link at all, not even an incorrect one there.

The link you provided was the first comment I made. I was logged in, and it stated that when I left the comment, hence I didn’t need to provide any further info. It just said “you are logged in as pearlsoftruth’…
But, there is no link back to my blog.
Second time, I left a comment, but once I was logged out. I was asked to put name, web, etc. I filled that in, and from this comment, was able to be linked back to my blog. But no avatar. But as you said, I wasn’t logged in.
So, not sure why I can’t link back when I AM logged in.

I just had a look at that beyondbluestockings blog again. The problem is highlighted in the Recent Comments section. About half way down, you will see my username… PearlsOfTruth, with the pearls avatar. If you click on my username there, it will just come up with http:////
I hope I am not confusing you as much as I confuse myself…

Is your blog Private? If it is not, I honestly think it’s time to send this to Support via your dashboard Support button. I can’t account for this.
