Commenting Out Shortcode

In a weirdly peevish question currently closed to further comments, a question remains unanswered because, although an active link to the blog in question was provided, the questioner did not include “http://” in the URL of his site:
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/commenting-a-shortcode-code
As noted on that page, this topic is not resolved. The question is: can one comment out shortcode in WordPress pages, much as one does with <!– –> in HTML or // in PHP. This is a general question, unspecific to any current blog. Please advise and thank you.

Yes, you can. Make sure to add the HTML comment tag in the HTML editor as described in this support document:
