  how do i let people who visit my blog thing post comments?

  they already can by cliking the comments link under your post

  You do see the comment box at the bottom of your posts, right?

  It should default to let them do so. It’s a checkbox though at Dashboard -> Options -> Discussion for your entire blog. You can also turn this off for each single post and page with the discussion tab along the right hand side when you write or edit a single post.
