I’ve set up a blog and for a school and want children to be able to comment on posts. I’ve unchecked the box that says users need to be registered and logged on to comment, but this still doesn’t allow me to comment without asking for a wordpress username and password.
I just want children to be abl;e to comment, using a school email address I’ve given them, without them having, for the moment, the username and password for the blog. The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

To be sure, did you save the setting? I ask because one must scroll down to the bottom of the discussion page to “save changes” so it is easily overlooked.
Also, I’m not certain that the changes are retroactive. At any rate, the students don’t need to have a WordPress.com account to comment: the email address requested on the comment form doesn’t have to be genuine. I just left a comment on your blog using a fake email addy. It’s awaiting moderation, so you can delete it.
