placed a comment on my blog. is there a setting that allows comments to be seen rather than having to clicked on to be viewed?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

No. A blog is about having new posts for readers. If you had a post with 700 comments (and could set your blog so they showed first up), your readers would have to scroll through miles of screens to see your next post. Most people would leave your blog, rather than try to find your latest news.

You can use a “recent comments” widget to your sidebar, to show readers what other people are currently talking about. But the theme you are using does not show the sidebar when readers are looking at individual posts—that means that unless readers know to click on the title of your blog, they won’t know how to get back to your home page (nor the other pages on your site.)

Also, I would suggest that the comment you made would be very nice as a post. (IMHO)

Oh, my! Yes!! I know that feeling to make your own comments just to have some comments.
Give it time. I get a real thrill from all comments!

But it’s better to post regularly, interestingly, and often. Readers will find you if you write good posts.

Remember, your blog is only a few days old. It might take weeks, or likely months, while you continuously write about interesting things before people find you. I’ll bet that there is much information about your topic that will be relevant for a long time. I don’t know much about fishing, but I’m sure there are a lot of interesting thing you could talk about in posts. And if you have pictures, be sure to use the advanced settings to label them. I get quite a few hits from the labels, titles, descriptions of images in posts.
