Any help would be great!
Hello,
I am having a very difficult time disabling comments on each page of my blog. I just can’t seem to disable all comments no matter what I try. Specifically, I cannot seem to remove the “Leave a Reply” box from my main page. I do not want people leaving a reply on my main page. Or any page. And I have been to the “enable/disable comments” support page and did not find a “discussion” setting on the page I wanted to edit (in which to disable comments). I did many internet searches that had links and advice to remove comments. I poured over the settings options. I even downloaded a plugin to try and disable all comments yet cannot find where to install a plugin. Nothing has been helpful. I am sorry, I would not be contacting you without doing much research myself first. My own attempts have failed, so I am reaching out for help. This is a blog that I would like to show people only, not allow back and forth communication. That said, I do have a “Contact” page for people to contact me that way. That is all the communication that I would like.
I am using the “Illustratr” theme, if that helps at all.
Thanks very much!

Hi Elizabeth,
If you don’t see the discussion module in your page editor, you may need to enable that module in your screen options: http://en.support.wordpress.com/enable-disable-comments/#missing-discussion-module
If you run into trouble with that, you can also disable comments on all your pages by bulk editing them:
- Go to the Pages -> All Pages screen in your blog’s dashboard.
- Select the pages you would like to modify or check the box next to “Title” column at the top to select all pages on that screen.
- Select Edit from the Bulk Actions drop down menu.
- Click the Apply button.
- Change the options for Comments and Pings to Do not allow.
- Click the Update button.
Please let me know if you have any questions about that. :)
