  I get notifications when people comment on my blog posts, but it won’t show up on the actual post. I’m not sure how to make them show up.

  If you go to My Site –> Settings –> Discussion, you might be able to find a setting preventing them from showing. Are the comments being held in moderation by any chance?

  You can also check on that by going WP Admin –> Comments. From there, you can approve them, too.

  Just my 2¢, you do want to have comment moderation active on your site. Akismet is extremely good at keeping spam out, but it’s not immune to uninformed site owners who unknowingly approve spam comments. Education is the best preventive in this case: http://docs.akismet.com/general/spam-facts/
