  People are having problems posting their comment on my blog page. I’ve tried it & it seems to work. Any suggestions?

  Is there a specific post or page where this is happening? Are your visitors receiving error messages? What happens when they try to post a comment?

  You are welcome to have them post in this forum thread so that we can try to help resolve this or tag this for Staff assistance.

  Thanks so much Jennifer for your reply to my query. It seems to be just my current post ‘M.E. … oh my’, I think from one day after I posted it. Folk can write a comment, but the ‘Post Comment’ box doesn’t seem visible to them. One blogger has been able to post a comment. I have been able to comment myself. I’ve checked my settings, allow comments etc. So at a bit of a loss. I don’t want to miss valuable interaction. I’ve had no problem with previous posts, as far as I’ve been made aware. Would the ‘needs to be registered & signed in to comment’ tick box on my dashboard make a big difference to who can comment? Thanks again.

  Hi, The default settings allow comments to be made by the broadest number of visitors. https://en.support.wordpress.com/comments/ Changing that setting you mentioned would limit commenting to WordPressdotcom users who are logged in.

  Once someone places their cursor inside the comment box, the log in options appear, along with the “Post Comment” button (It is best to log in first before writing/submitting a comment.) If that is not happening for your site visitors, they may need to check their browser settings to allow 3rd party cookies or even update their browser entirely.

  Hi Jennifer. Thank you for going into more detail. I’ve checked my settings, and they are set at allowing a broad number of comments. So it would appear that the problem isn’t at this end. If I have further comment queries I will suggest the checks, and popping on to this forum thread as you have mentioned. Thank you again for your help.
