It seems that the number of comments I receive(over and above the ones Akismet removes) still exceed the number of visitors recorded. I’m curious if the comments are actually in regard to my Blog or am I receiving copies of general comments made to others. How do I know which ones are actually concerning my Blog?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello there,
Is this the blog in question? http://gusisaac.wordpress.com/ If so then please remove that site linked to your username and link the blog to it.Here’s how to link your username to your blog in your blog Dashboard -> Users -> Personal Settings -> then scroll down to Account Details. Then scroll down to where it says ‘Website‘ select the URL for your primary wordpress.com blog and then save changes. Now every time you sign into the forum we can all click on your username and your blog will be linked to it.
The information we have on Akismet, spam and comments has not changed since you posted last year. > https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/akismet-6?replies=19

Thank you for the advice, I hope this works, although the way I understand what you said is that this only works when I go into the forum but I guess time will tell.

And as we said last year, don’t the usernames “online roulette”, “businesspropertyloan”, “atlanta apartment property management companies”, “Towel Rails”, “Formica Sheets”, “Body Pillow”, “Natural Vitamins”, “Magnesium Ascorbate”, “L-Methionine Dosage”, “Rhinoplasty”, “laser liposuction”, “Kerala Girls”, “Sex Wife” etc. etc. mean anything to you?
Of all the comments you’ve got on your front page, the only genuine one is fuzzygrafx’s. All the others are spam. You’re advertising sellers, schemers and prostitutes.

I thought Akismet was supposed to eliminate those before I got the chance to read them. I guess I’m somewhat naive concerning things of that nature. I assumed people used these titles just for fun, some people do weird things but I try not to judge them.
We are trying to do a good thing here with this blog and even the people who fit the categories that you mentioned, need to read this material.
Many of them seem to enjoy our blog, based on their comments. However, it is not our intention to advertise for them and we will remove those comments that you claim are not genuine.
Our question still remains, how do we tell what is genuine and how do we get normal people to view our blog? -
thesacredpath gives some tips here to tell legitimate comments from spam:

In fact I did the same thing panaghiotisadam did and with the same results. On your post titled “Check it out” you have a spam trackback to delete.
