Does it have to say ‘comments are closed’ in the posts if I don’t want all the icons and stuff like that underneath the post?? How do I do to get rid of it and ‘clean up’?

If you close comments via your Discussion module, you should not see the “Comments are closed” text.
To do this, head over to your Dashboard -> Pages -> Edit page. Below the text editor, you will see a module titled “Discussion.” Underneath, deselect “Allow comments” and/or “Allow trackbacks and pingbacks on this page.”
Then, be sure to “Update” your page :) For full instructions, check out this page.

Thanks, the thing is just that that’s exactly what I’ve been doing; both on that page and on the actual page where I create the post. Still there is the text ‘Comments are closed’ underneath the post when I select ‘preview’.

Actually, comments would be OK, I just don’t want that field with all the icons. Want it to be clean.

By the icons did you mean the sharing icons? If so, you can disable those site-wide via Settings -> Sharing in your blog’s Dashboard.
Or on an individual post similar to how you disabled comments.

I’ve tried to… I’ve unchecked the boxes where it says show as icons but they’re still there. And if I don’t allow comments then there’s this text “comments are closed”. I really don’t want any of this in the post and I’ve unchecked everything there seems to be.

And when I try to disable buttons to be shown in posts and pages on the sharing settings site, the boxes are once again checked after I’ve saved changes.

Maybe we’re not thinking of the same icons. Can you describe where the icons are?
As for “Comments Closed,” the only way to totally remove that would be to hide it via a Custom Design upgrade.
