I have a free wordpress site. I can see comments & followers from other bloggers but when anyone who does not have a wordpress account leaves a comment it does not appear. I have checked my settings & everything looks like it is set correctly according to wordpress instructions.
My question is can the general public who do not have a wordpress account leave comments. If so how do I enable this. The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi homefoodsblog, I believe to be able to leave a reply, a person must sign in with either having a WordPress.com, Google, Twitter or Facebook account to be able to leave a reply.
The blog does prompt you to sign in via any of the above mentioned social logins.Hope this shed some light on the subject. ☺

Thanks for that :)
I did read that but this person said they did not see any options.
I read on wordpress instructions that people need to click in the comments box & options come up. Is that correct as this person is saying they don’t see it.
Not sure how to advise them on the process of logging in with another social link. Thanks again. Appreciate your help.

If you are not logged in, and you click inside the “Reply Box” the sign in options appears just under the the “Reply Box” on right hand side.
The email sign in that shows is for WordPress account holders.
If a reader doesn’t have a WordPress account, the reader can just select their preferred sign in option.
After signing in they can leave a comment.
