Comments always held for moderation
-
Comments are always held for moderation, even though I set the blog to allow comments from accounts which had a previously approved comment.
None of the words from the moderation list or blacklist are in the comments (including partial words). Ideas?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Did you uncheck Comments must be manually approved checkbox from the Discussion Settings?

http://www.bacourse.com/ is a WordPress.ORG website and you need to be in their forums for help with that.

Hi there, traumadissociation:
I took a look at your settings. Could you please send me a note when a comment is held for moderation? Just let me know what to look for, and I can investigate further. It’s tough for me to do that hypothetically.
I am looking forward to hearing more from you about this.
Thanks much.

meenasfhyzics ,
A warning: We’re keeping an eye on your posts here at the WordPress.com forums. If you continue publishing your self-hosted site URL in your comments, after you’ve been told this isn’t the right place, you will endanger yourself of being marked a spammer. Then, you won’t be able to post at all.
In the meantime, I am redacting your self-hosted site’s URL from your comments.
Thank you in advance for heeding this warning.
And thanks for the heads up, Galois.

There’s currently a comment in moderation thatrobyn and the option to manually approve all comments is unticked.
The current comment is a pingback from the last post, but basically every comment is held in moderation. Examples of comments are on https://traumadissociation.wordpress.com/2015/02/26/asking-for-help/

A comment I posted on blog Healing from Complex Trauma has been held in moderation for over an hour. No violations (profanity) while another comment from someone else has been posted/approved.
-
Wait. It’s up to the blogger in question to approve your post or not, and they can do it on their own schedule.

didisreal–
I checked your settings and you have “Comment author must have a previously approved comment” checked. That means the first time someone comments the comment will require moderation. Comments that might be spam will also be held for moderation.
Hope that helps explain how that all works.
dcarter201– Raincoaster’s reply applies to your situation. Blog owners get to decide when (or if) to approve comments on their site.

Lizthefair – that’s the problem, comments which are my own (pingbacks) still need approval even though I’ve had approved comments before.
Some comments which aren’t mine are finally being approved for regular comments.

That happens sometimes with pingbacks. The best thing to do is keep approving them. That teaches your site that they aren’t spam.

I noticed pingbacks from my own blog don’t have a username, could there be a work around for this?

Pingbacks show the site they came from and the title of the post the pingback is from. There isn’t a way to make them display differently.
