comments appear on blog without my approval

  Usually all comments are approved by myself,however occasionally, a comment will appear directly onto the page, passing the approval stage. No other user is set up and I am sole administrator. Can you help…anyone?

  refer to this section in dashboard -> options -> discussion:

  Before a comment appears:

  * An administrator must always approve the comment
  * Comment author must fill out name and e-mail
  * Comment author must have a previously approved comment

  if you don’t want comments to directly appear without your approval, you must unchecked the third option, and check the first option.
