Comments appearing on Facebook feed when I am not linked to Facebook

  All of a sudden 7 comments are listed on my Facebook feed. Some of these comments are a week old. I don’t have Facebook linked to WordPress. Why would that happen? How do I stop it.

  Not asking for help in Facebook. Asking how can these comments get out of WordPress. I have not linked my WordPress and Facebook accounts. When I post WP entries they don’t get posted in FB. So how do my comments leave WP? This doesn’t happen on a daily basis but somehow today they got to FB. and about 7 comments got posted together on my FB feed.. How can FB or any other program get access to my WP blog without my permission? Thanks

  It sounds to me like you’ve used the RSS feed for your comments and added it to your Facebook via an app like Notes or Publicize. Are you using any apps?

  Also, please give us a link to a specific comment of yours on the blog that has ended up on Facebook. And tell us WHERE on Facebook it ended up.

  I agree Cordlia. It is amazing to watch them explore new things and make their own adjustments – like pushing things around the house that don’t have wheels on them..

  It looks like it is coming up as a note. At one point I had used an app to have WP post to FB but that has been removed.. Again these just popped up today. The apps were removed a while ago.

  Double-check your Facebook settings. Quite frequently they mess up and this kind of thing happens. If you disable the app entirely from FB it should stop it.

  I double-checked my Facebook settings. The only app I use on Facebook is the Flickr tab. No other apps are listed. I even disconnected the Twitter publicize feature in WordPress to make sure that had nothing to do with it.

  Today’s comments popped up on my Page instead of just on the feed. http://www.facebook.com/LonnieDawkinsPhoto. I erased them because I don’t want them to be seen there.

  I guess I can just keep erasing but if you have any other suggestions it would be appreciated.

  Are you sure nobody is posting them there manually? You can control whether other people are allowed to post to your Pages, so change it so only you can post there. See what happens.
