Comments are enabled but posts still say they are disabled

  My comments are enabled through the discussion tab, but it still says comments are disabled on the actual posts themselves.
  I have tried switching themes, unchecking and rechecking the box and saving, nothing works.
  Help?

  So in settings -> discussion the box is ticked that says allow comments on new articles?

  Then on each of your posts is the box ticked in the discussion module on the edit page (of not visible click screen options, and tick discussion) that says allow comments?

  Perfect! It was the second one where on the individual post, I had to click discussion under screen options and from there I was able to see that comments weren’t enabled.
