Comments aren’t working, nor is my contact form

Hi! I recently purchased a new domain, http://www.heylady.net, and ever since I added it to my blog I’ve been having issues. Apparently, people either can’t comment, or the name, email, and url slots are not showing up for them.

Also, my contact form isn’t working.

I had changed the blog url to heylady.net, but I just switched it back to http://trishsdiary.wordpress.com. I don’t really care what the main url is (heylady.net is being redirected to http://trishsdiary.wordpress.com), I just want my comments to work. :-)

    Can someone help me?

Or maybe I should ask support?

Thanks! I appreciate any help! :-)

I just left a test comment on your blog here. Commenting now seems to be working as expected http://trishsdiary.wordpress.com/2009/01/12/review-who-by-fire-by-diana-spechler/#comment-6337

With regard to the contact form I suggest that you edit the page and remove the personal details section you have posted above the existing contact form.

It is very easy to have a contact form on your blog. All you need to do is type the following into any post or page on your blog:
    [contact-form]
The instructions to follow are found here http://support.wordpress.com/contact-form/

Hi, timethief! I did see your comment, and I’m embarassed to say that because my issue had fallen off the most recent issues list, I didn’t know if anyone would catch it, so I posted about it again. Here’s the other post (which I’m totally embarassed now that you’ve responded to my first forum message. Sorry!): https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/comment-feature-is-broken?replies=6

The problem with the comments is that if I’m logged in, I could leave a comment. But when I log out, I can’t see (nor can most people, apparently) the fields that should allow you to type in your name, email, and url. :-(

thesacredpath said it might be because wordpress is working on rolling out a new comment feature (which I’m assuming is the threaded comments, which I’m totally stoked about), so maybe that’s why my comment feature is wonky?

Just as a follow-up, I went ahead and tried to redo the contact form. I did it once no problem, followed the directions and it’s still coming up wonky.

As an aside, how long does it take for someone from Support to email me once I’ve let them know I have a problem? Do you know?

How long it takes depends on how many support requests are in front of yours, and how many of staff have been commandeered to help with the code rollout. My experience lately has been about 4-8 hours, but again, they are in the middle of the rollout.

I see the problem with your contact page Misty look theme has a template for a
contact page I suggest you edit the page set the template back to default
then add this short code [contact-form] in your editor in HTML view by clicking
    the HTML tab.

This page on contact form http://support.wordpress.com/contact-form/ should be updated by WordPress to include the fact that the [contact-form] is to be typed in the HTML editor! I had been typing it in the visual editor (and I guess there are others like me!).

Theoretically you can put the contact form code in either the visual or the HTML tab and it should work. WordPress is supposed to recognize the code for the contact form and implement it regardless of which you paste it into.

That said, I’ve had times with it would not work for me in the visual tab. I”ve just taken to putting any shortcode into the HTML editor since it always seems to work there where once in a while it doesn’t in the visual tab.

I have put mine in the visual editor in both Freshy and Sandbox themes and it works. It varies.
