comments bar in footer
-
I’d like to add a comments bar at the footer of each post where the links to FB Twitter etc are. I seem to have comments only in “about”. I’m using the eighties theme.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there, I looked at a couple of your single posts, Nan and Pop take off from Broome… and ..from Halls Creek to… and see comments sections at the bottom of the pages below the links to the next and previous posts.

Hi, I can see the comments box on the single post pages and in “ABOUT”. But when in the mode of the blog flowing, which scrolls from one post to the next – is it not possible that a comments box appears in the footer of each post i.e amongst the FB, Twitter icons etc. Not just as a single page but on the scrolling blog. BTW I have a Safari and Firefox and they are both the same.
Cheers,
Mark. -
Comments aren’t shown on the post listing pages, such as blog, archives, categories or tags. The reason for that is if you happen to get a bunch of comments on a few posts (I’ve seen posts with over 700 comments), it can make navigating to the next post cumbersome for visitors. This isn’t something that can be changed with CSS. CSS is a styling document used by browsers to style and position the elements of a web page and cannot be used to add functionality that isn’t there already.
The P2 theme, which is sort of a twitter inspired theme for collaborative ventures, is the only theme I know of that has an option to show comments on the main page. The P2 theme is no longer in development and will not be receiving any additional updates, so that is something to keep in mind of you choose to use it.
