Comments behavior.

Let’s see if I can explain this and perhaps someone can tell me what’s going on. I should mention that my blog site recently mutated, all by itself, to produce this weirdness.
When I want to read a particular post in my reader I click the title … when I do so a smallish window pops up with the post within. Now, I can scroll through this somewhat smallish window and view the post in its entirety. There is also a box which says, ‘enter your comment here.’ If I do so, the comment shows with my gravatar and link to my site and so on.
Now …. in that original smallish window, there is also a link which says, ‘view original.’ Now, this view is more expansive with a much more comfortable reading frame. At the bottom there is a box which says, ‘leave a comment.’ If I do so here, the comment it labeled with nondescript initials (mine) and a nondescript (green) gravatar (without my link).
Now … in both cases, I’m fully logged in.
Why this dual behavior, and how can I guarantee that my gravatar in site link show along with all comments make?
Thanks folks.
Dave
Can you determine why the ‘original view’ doesn’t allow me to comment with suitable gravatar and link back to me?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there!
I’m happy to take a look at this for you! Can you give me a link to one of your comments made from within the Reader (with your gravatar and link) and a link to one of your comments made outside of the Reader (without your gravatar and link)?

Ah … ya … let me see if I can figure out how to do this …
OK … here’s one where I commented by clicking on ‘View original’ and then commenting. http://portraitsofwildflowers.wordpress.com/2014/07/30/an-even-closer-look-at-mountain-pink-flowers/ …. see my initials and the plain, green, Gravatar? Weird.
And … here’s one where things worked correctly. http://2me4art.com/2014/07/29/gemstone-feathers/ … you see my Gravatar and link to Pairodox Farm!
This second ‘way’ is how things have always worked … I don’t understand the initials and weird Gravatar of the first … seems to be something which accompanied the slight changes I thought I noticed in certain WordPress functions a bit ago.
Thanks much Shawna for looking into this for me. It’s not really a big deal but little things like this drive me totally nuts!

Thanks for those links!
It looks like when you’re clicking on “View original” and commenting you’re logged out and filling in an email address that is not associated with your account.
Can you make sure that you have 3rd party cookies enabled? Here are directions for doing that in Firefox:
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/enable-and-disable-cookies-website-preferences
Can you confirm whether you’re filling in an email address when you visit those sites through the “View Original” link? Are you logged out of your WordPress.com account?

Hey there Shawna … I’ve figured out the problem … apparently I commented sometime ago when I wasn’t actually logged in … when I did, I provided an email address which was NOT associated with my account … and that seems to have stuck, when commenting via ‘view original.’ So, I corrected the email and now WordPress seems to know, once again, who I am! Thanks for your help … it stimulated me to think … and, as we all know, thinking is important! D.

Perfect! I’m so glad you were able to figure out what was happening! :)
Let me know if I can help with anything else!
