Comments button disabled after update

    I operate a website for students, who are asked to leave comments on different topical posts. Even though all the programming boxes that relate to the functionality of comments are checked and appear normal, the comment button that they click on to leave a comment on the post has disappeared. This is a problem for every post on the website.

    I can still see all the historical comments in my programming menu – they are still there – they are just no longer displaying on the main pages.

    You use the self-hosted WordPress version and your website is hosted on Bluehost.
