Comments closed

My recent postings have not included the capacity for readers to leave comments, as has been th default setting previously. I have changed the theme to one that has comments more overtly displayed but each time I click on “leave comments” it says “comments closed”. I have double checked the comments settings and made sure that comments can be listed. I saved the changes, logged out and back in again and people still cannot leave comments.
I have gone to the blog in different browsers and on differnet PCs but with no luck.
I have read other comments-related postings on the forum and nothing quite solves my situation.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The site linked to your nick is not a wp.COM blog.

Are you talking about this blog http://safetyatworkblog.wordpress.com/ ?

Open the post for edit, and then in the “discussion” section below the text area (if you have not moved it) check to see if comments have been turned off there. If so, turn them on and then click the “update post” button. Repeat for each post that says comments are closed.

Thanks I only went through Discussions on the Dashboard. Never noticed Discussions below the text. Sorry to bother and many thanks for the rapid response.

Not a problem. It’s a little confusing sometimes.

Also, in settings > discussion under “Default article settings” make sure that “Allow people to post comments on the article” is checked and then under “Other comment settings” look at “Automatically close comments on articles older than __ days”. This should not be checked if you want comments open on older posts. If you want comments closed on older posts, then you can select that item and also set the number of days.
