  I was also curious if someone could help me remove the “comment cloud” found at the top of a post and instead just have something that says “comments” at the bottom of a post.

  At the bottom of each post, adjacent to the categories is a “leave a reply or “2 comments” type of link already if that would do for you. The comments link at the bottom can be style differently to make it more prominent if you wish.
