Comments coming to email in new & disturbing way

  For four years, my comments have arrived in my email inbox with the commenter’s name in the “from” column and the name of the post in the subject column. But for the last three or four days, they’ve arrived with simply “comment-reply” in the “from” column. Or, sometimes, “Free-RangeKids” (the name of my blog) ini the from column. Those are worse! When I click on THOSE, I have to see a box with my whole post in it, and below it is a comment that I can’t even respond to. The ones that have “comment-reply” ini the from column are not quite a bad, though I have to cut and paste the commenter’s email to respond to. How can I get back to the old system ., whereby a commenter’s NAME appeared in the “from” column of my email account, and their comment appeared just like a normal email, which I could press “reply” and simply reply to that person?   Hi there, thanks for your feedback on the new comment-email format.

  Instead of copy-pasting, you can click on the email address to open a new email to that person.

  You can also reply directly to the email to respond in a public comment.

  The “From” line may be modified in a future version to include the commenter’s name.
