Comments discussion

Dear WP Support,
I am still having trouble changing my comment prompt from “What Do You Think?” to the one I want, “Your Thoughts?”
I’ve been trying to change it daily for the past couple of weeks, just to see if it’s a glitch, but no success! Would love your help on this please!
Also, I’d like to take away the need for other bloggers/people to fill in their name + details before they comment; I’d like to make it easier and more immediate for them to comment if they want.
Many thanks in advance!
Annie

The “What do you think?” text is actually hard-coded into the theme using PHP. You won’t be able to change it using the traditional method at the bottom of the page here:

However, we could use a bit of a workaround with CSS. Can you try putting the following code under Appearance -> Customize -> CSS?
.form hgroup::before { content: "Your thoughts?"; font-size: 20px; } .form hgroup h2 { display: none; }This method is a bit of a hack, meaning it’s not the best, but with this theme, it’s our only option.
Also, I’d like to take away the need for other bloggers/people to fill in their name + details before they comment; I’d like to make it easier and more immediate for them to comment if they want.
Users should be able to comment currently without entering their name or email address as you have the following option unchecked on your Discussion settings page (linked above):

Great! I’ll give the “hacking” option a go, many thanks!
As for the freedom to comment; I’ve checked that I’ve got the box un-ticked, but it still seems like people/bloggers need to fill in their name + detail to comment and a BIG reason why I’d like to get rid of that is to give them more freedom to write what they want.
Is there any other way you can check?
It also might just be on my preview when I preview a post.
With many thanks for all your time + assistance!

Howdy Annie!
I just gave the comment issue a test, and I was able to leave a comment without filling out any of the details. Here’s the comment:
I un-approved it so that it wouldn’t appear on your site. You’ll notice that the name says “Anonymous” since I didn’t leave a name, email, or web address. Feel free to delete the comment once you’ve seen it.
When you’re trying to leave a comment, are you logged into your WordPress.com account? If so, WordPress.com will automatically pre-fill the contents for you. If you’d like to try this, you can open a private window in Safari as shown here:
That should log you out of WordPress.com when you go to comment.

Many thanks! It seems to look as I want now; perhaps I hadn’t allowed enough time for it to change over.
Thanks so much for going to the trouble of doing a test-run + explaining things to me!
Cheers!
