Comments don’t show up

When I try to write comments on my own blog (kaimm.wordpress.com) they don’t show up. I have tried doing this from three different browsers and on two different posts. Still there is nothing showing up. Please help me someone?!!?

Have you checked your spam folder, just to make sure they’re not being held there? Dasboard > Comments > Akismet Spam. Sometimes Akismet marks administrator comments as spam.

i’m having problems commenting on *my own* blog too. it’s embarrassing when everyone else can comment on my posts but me. they have no links in them but when i press submit, they are not showing up. worse, when i go back, paste in the text i just wrote and re-submit it, i get a “duplicate comment detected” error. so the system thinks it’s posting my comments. my “akismet spam” folder shows 0 comments in it, so they’re not there either.

They might well be there. Sometimes the spam doesn’t show up for awhile (see numerous threads for that information). The fact they’re listed as duplicates is an indication they ARE in teh comment system, just as spam.
Wait a couple of hours and see if they turn up. If not, contact support.
Do NOT continue to comment. Every comment by you that goes to spam reinforces Akismet’s opinion that you’re spam.

Thanks, I am going to wait and see if they turn up there (my box is empty too). But I do have to say, I did comment like 10 times, so I hope it didn’t get the wrong idea. Is there anyway to undo Akismet’s opinion about yourself. Seems kinda even ridiculous that it would consider you spam in the first place.

You have to either wait till they show up and un-spam them one by one until Akismet learns OR if they don’t show up, you have to contact staff. Those are the only ways of which I know.

Yeah, WordPress is acting up bigtime this morning.
I’m unable to comment on my own blog! My posts don’t even show up as SPAM — they just disappear. Also, I tried to post on a couple of other WordPress blogs and my posts just vanish too.
Not the day to closedown support.

I have the same problem as fromtheleft – unable to comment my own blog. The comments are not shown as spam in my dashboard and they disapear. Sometimes my comments in other blogs mysteriously vanish after some time of presence.

Same problem here. Last night, my comments on my own blog immediately went into the Spam folder. I thought that was strange, but simply removed them.
This morning, none of my comments show up (not in spam either), but other people are able to comment on my site. Argh.

I found that I can`t post only comments that contain links with http on the beginning. Probably the system thinks that they are spam. You can post the comment without links, then edit the comment through dashboard and there you can add the links.

What is going on with WordPress today?????? My comments on my own blog just vanish into thin air. My comments on other blogs don’t turn up either. Nothing in the Spam folder.. although I have a feeling that Akismet has its sticky fingers in here somewhere.
This is really annoying. Where is the “Customer Service” when you need it…?

Wrote support about the problem more than 6 hours ago. No response.
Just tried to post to my own blog and the comment vannished. BTW, akismet is E.M.P.T.Y.
Something is seriously broken today, folks.

I also sent an email to support several hours ago with no response. You’d think they could at least let people know of the issue while they’re working on it.
By the way, why is the time on these comments showing after 5pm? Is there something that I have set wrong in my dashboard?

the forum (and everything else on wp.com) is on UTC, not whatever time zone you have set on your blog options.

I do have the same problem with you all, folks. There’s something wrong out there, no… not my blog or my comments, but the so-called Akismet. I love the way Akismet protecting me from the spammers. But it’s really weird to me, when I found that me – as the administrator of my own blog – can’t comment on my own blog. I dont have to say about my comments on other blogs, they’re just vanish…

I received this email from Mark at WordPress Support:
“Could you leave a comment at http://podz.wordpress.com so I can better track the problem?”
I went to the site and tried leaving a comment but it didn’t work. As of right now, I still can’t leave a comment on my own site, Aksimet remains empty, and no comments are being held for moderation, but I am relieved that Mark responded to my support request, so I’m hoping it’ll be resolved shortly.
