IMO 5 hours is not a long time when it comes to getting support on a free hosted blog. Granted that you may feel differently. It seems there is a widespread problem because there are many posting on the same issue and that means that patience is what is required while staff sort this.
    Cheers :)

5 hours since I last contacted them. About 36 hours since the problem was first reported and 24 since I first reported it. Free or not, that’s simply nuts. I’ve heard basically nothing from them except for saying it’s fixed when it’s not.

bherring24, please be patient. Mark is on his own most of the time when answering support requests. As he’s in the UK he’s also in a different timezone to you.

I know it’s not much comfort to you and yes, Mark could do with a shed load of help but he’s doing his best!

By the way, if you think this is bad, try getting support at Flickr. Three weeks ago I put in my first support request. I have put 5 in since then and I have still heard nothing. And that’s on a service I pay for!

We are fixing this as I type – sorry for the delay.

He’s shown up once on this thread to say, basically, it’s not his problem, he’s answered all his requests. That irks me, as you can probably tell. Then he goes on to say to contact him without any mechanism to actually do that.

At least when Blogger would shut down (almost daily it seemed), there would at least be a notification, telling you they were aware of the problem and working on it.

    EDIT

Thank you! At least you’re now letting us know you’re working on it.

I didn’t say that. I would not say that.

Please do not twist what I said.

Thanks for working on this Mark.

I’m really not trying to attack you, Mark, but there is a certain base level of professionalism and courtesy that is expected of any service provider. WordPress is not providing that right now. We all understand that things are going to go wrong, even though WordPress is FAR better than most. But the reality is things will happen. What is not professional is ignoring the problem, or giving the impression of ignoring the problem, by not keeping your members updated on what’s going on or that you’re even working on the problem. I’m not expecting an all-hands-on-deck, work-through-the-night situation or anything, just some acknowledgment that we have concerns and they’re being addressed. Whether you recognize it or not, the impression amongst me and several others is that we’re being ignored.

When there are problems, send Support messages in.

If 1 person says there is a problem in Support, and 100 people say it here then the delay until I come back to the forum mean I do not realise the scale of the problem.
I do read most of the forum but I also answer support messages and I cannot do both at the same time. We will let people know there is an issue but for that to happen we need Support messages and we need to duplicate the problem – at that point it is an official problem and will be communicated. If we did less then I would be posting here constantly about every little thing.

Historically we do keep people informed – the last week has shown that – but if I have no tickets in Support then all the posting here won’t help. Do realise that I nearly always need more information and trying to get that here is totally impractical.

You might want to know that the weekend problems did result in almost no sleep for Barry and Demetrious. Other issues also mean that we do the hours needed to get things fixed.

Still can’t leave comments on others’ pages.
    Tried testing.
Tried contacting support. Thank you BTW for responding.
    Tried clearing cache/cookies/temp files/rebooting.
    Still nothing.
    *sigh*

dp4soul – I found the reason and you should now be good.
Send me messages if not though.

    *big hugs for mark*
    Thank you! I’s working now.

Oh Key Master, what is “the reason” that hath made dp4soul good? Can it be shared with us? Even if you can only give a vague answer, it would be nice to know whether a system problem was at play here, or user-related issues. Know what I mean?

Thanks for your help with this.
