Comments drop down menu

  As of yesterday, when i click on the little talk balloon up near my username on the right hand side that would normally access a drop down menu with comments in it, all i get is a graphic like it is attempting to load the comments and not able to read anything.
  All the plugins attached to the account are up to date as is the theme. I have tried deactivating them all (even though it is only with Jetpack that the icon appears in the first place)
  I’m not willing to change the actual theme as the site is visited regularly, but I am using the current version of

  I’ve had this happen before and updating apps has solved the issue. Why is it always this aspect of the site that doesnt work when updates go through?

  sorry, the theme is the current version of 2011

  Hello there,

  It looks like theretrocinema.com is a self-hosted WordPress site with GoDaddy, which is a bit different to a site hosted on WordPress.com. You can read about these differences here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

  You would need to reach out to your theme/plugin developers or the hosting provider for further assistance.

  I have tested the website and access to comments on another computer and it works fine – so it appears to be a mismatch/conflict in the sodftware on my dell surface laptop
