Comments enabled but comment box not showing after posts
-
Hi,
I’m using the Sketch theme for my blog and have enabled comments through the advanced settings suggested by WP Support. A reply box now shows on the ‘About’ page but does not seem to be showing below my first Post.Any help would be greatly appreciated!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Thanks for your response. However the enable comments check box is ticked and saved, as mentioned in the title, but there is still no comment box.

Hi,
I can see a comment box on your post, it will not ‘show’ on your home page, but it does when you ‘click’ on the idividual posts.
Oh, and just if you need it in the future, you can turn them on and off per post when editing as well.
Hope that helps.

I can see the comment box on the OP’s blog post, too.
I am having the same problem — the “allow comments” box is ticked, but there is no box. I can’t seem to resolve this! I am using the the Sela theme. Is there a way to get the comments box to show? Thanks!

With the Sketch theme may readers do not realise that they have to click the post title to display the comment box at the end of the post. They just think it is not possible to leave comments at all. Is it possible to add a “Leave a comment” text with link under the post title (as in Cynthia’s Sela theme) to display the comment area and direct readers to it? Thanks!

There is no way to address this. Comments are open on all posts and pages on all WordPress.com blogs. The way comments are displayed when clicking a post or page title and scrolling to the end is coded into the core of wordpress software and we bloggers cannot change this. However, you can use a text widget to provide instructions for locating the comments box. https://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/text-widget/
You can enable and disable comments on free hosted WordPress.com blogs on this page > Settings > Discussion Discussion settings is where you set up defaults for comments.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/discussion-settings/You can override the default settings and enable or disable future comments on any individual post or page.

You can reveal it by clicking on Screen Options http://en.support.wordpress.com/screen-options/ on the top right corner of your Admin page, and checking the box that says Discussion so the module is included. http://en.support.wordpress.com/modules/#list-of-modules
