Comments from non-registered users despite "must be registered to comment"

    Dear support,

    I noticed a wave of spam comments on my website (from march to may), from many users with the same pattern in the name, however:
    – these users do not appear in the user panel;
    – the option “user must be registered and connected to comment” was ticked.
    – I’m using the Sucuri and Wordfence plugins, and haven’t been notified of successful logins other than known accounts. No Captcha plugin though.

    I admit I am still using WordPress option 4.9.10, but how is it possible? Did a hack happen in the database, not through WordPress? I’m in the process of checking the content of the database and all website files.

    Thanks a lot for your insights
