Comments from non-WP users

  I’m new to WP so I’m a little uncertain about how comments work. I know that if another WP member makes a comment and I reply they will be notified via e-mail (or they can check back on my blog).

  What about a reply I make to a person who does not have a WP account? If he has left an e-mail address when he commented to a post of mine, will he automatically receive my reply via e-mail?

  wp and non-wp members do not get notified by e-mail when you reply to their comments. wp.com members can check back through the ‘my comments’ feature in dashboard, while non-wp members will just have to manually check back. you could send an email replying the person if you like.
