Comments from WordPress OpenID on Blogger

So here is my problem. I want to comment on someone’s post over at blogger.com. I use the OpenID feature on their comment page. I post my comment. The first time I did this, it asked for permission to access my information, yadda yadda yadda, and the comment showed up fine with my nickname. But ever since then when I comment on posts over at blogger, instead of saying “Robert says…” and showing my avatar, it simply says, “bikesandguitars.wordpress.com says…” and no avatar.

This is really frustrating, because I want it to say my nickname, not my URL. Is there a way to use OpenID to show my nickname/avatar in my comments on other people’s blogs? Does anyone know why it worked the first time but not since then?

I am having exactly the same problem, and would love to hear a solution.

Me as well. I’ve given up and no longer use OpenID; I just use the name and URL option.

The first time I made a comment on Blogger my nicknamed showed up. Now it’s just the URL to my blog. Is this a Blogger problem? I’ve searched their site to no avail. This is so frustrating!

I’ve also had the same problem. No support response for this?

My suggestion is to ditch open ID. It simply does not work anymore.

You can actually fix it by removing the openid information in your account, then just send the nickname each time you submit. When prompted, agree to send the nickname information only that one time.

It’s a little annoying, but nice to have it working for me.
