Comments I make on other blogs not appearing

Last night I posted a comment onto another blog, and was surprised when it didn’t appear after I pressed the button. That site is available if necessary.
I don’t remember the time.
This morning, I commented on a blog I follow, and the same thing happened. I sent another one. Nothing. That site can also be made available if necessary.
Is there a problem?

It depends on the Discussion settings that the administrator of the blog you are commenting has set. The Discussion Settings are used to control how visitors and other blogs interact with a site.
The administrator of the site could have enabled the setting such that all comments go into moderation and they will need to be approved before appearing on the blog.

Hi, When the blog has moderation in effect, I see a message that states: your comment is awaiting moderation.
that didn’t happen, and the two sites in question still do not have my comments, even though there are many others comments on one. this is not a matter of ‘moderation’ queuing. -

It’s worth noting that site owners are in complete control of the comments on their site. As @iamrishaan mentioned, whether they appear or not will depend on the Discussion settings that person has selected.
Can you send a link to the two sites you are having trouble commenting on?

I do understand that site owners can alter settings. I have my settings to enable me to moderate every comment.
However, the comments I made do not appear, no message appears to tell me ‘awaiting moderation’ and when I go back, the comment is gone.
I’m not the only one it’s happening to. In the last week, many people have discussed this issue (and lots of extra spam – which may indicate askismet oversensitivity?).
One site owner went to the spam folder and ‘moved’ my comment out.

I don’t remember the time.
One I didn’t know about until advised by the owner was: https://wordpress.com/read/blogs/134487091/posts/2076I don’t think I’m doing anything that ‘breaks’ the rules of commenting – but if there’s a specific word or phrase or something else that needs to be avoided, anything that defines me as a real person, can you advise me so I can fix/avoid/amend?

If your comments start getting spammed, it is most likely a problem with Akismet. To get it fixed your best option is to contact Akismet support directly at this link:

Akismet powers the comment spam filter on WordPress.com :)
Search for ‘comments’ and a form with the option to select, I think Akismet is catching my comments by mistake should appear.
Then submit the form and we’ll be in touch!
