  Is there a way to remove the Comments link under each post and instead, just display the comments?

  Not with what we have here at wordpress.com. You can do it with regular wordpress and adding code or a plugin to the theme. Having access to the theme files is a security risk that puts all the other blogs at risk since this is a shared environment.

  yeah, but it would be nice if we could make our own themes and apply them here in the wordpress.com environment. i think there’s a version we can run on another server, maybe i’ll look into that. thanks!
