Comments not appearing

  Hi all, I’m new to all this, so please be kind!
  People are making comments on my blog, they come to me via email, but don’t seem to appear on the blog itself. What do I do (or not do!) to make them appear please?
  All help gratefully received!

  Dear frchrisp,

  The reason why comments are not appearing in your blog is because you have not approved them.

  WordPress has an inbuilt comment moderation system of sorts. So, when someone new posts in a comment on your blog post, it needs to be approved by the administrator (i.e. you). You get notification emails about the comment that was posted. For the comments to appear in your blog, you actually have to log in to your dashboard and approve them.

  You can approve the comments by going into your ‘Comments’ section (between ‘Pages’ and ‘Feedback’ on the left side). You’ll see a list of comments. You’ll find an ‘Approve’ button as you hover your mouse over each comment that’s posted. Click it, and bingo! Your comment is approved. :)

  Thank you Hari! I had thought of that, and the comments are not visible in the comments section. Just says: comments (0)
  Any more thoughts, Hari or anyone, please?

  Hello,

  Are you sure you have received comments on your blog as email messages? I was just checking out your blog and I found a contact form underneath your post.

  i.e. you have embedded a contact form in your blog post which is entirely different from a comments box (which is there by default). When a visitor visits your blog post, (s)he is naturally tempted to post her comments through the contact form, which is emailed directly to you and is not posted in the blog.

  My suggestion is, if you want comments to be displayed in you blog posts, you should perhaps remove that contact form, since it is redundant. There is a comment box by default; so when people comment on your posts henceforth, they will be displayed on the posts themselves. You’d be getting email notifications as well.
