Comments not being emailed to me

When I first set up my new blog (http://digibirder.wordpress.com/) – imported from Blogger – I received emails telling me I had a comment to moderate. As I did not want to do this, I switched off that option in Discussion Options in Dashboard. However, I now find that comments are made without me getting the notification email at all, despite the box being ticked to do this.
I did also switch off the Pingback/Trackback option, too, because I made a link to a previous post, which left a trackback comment in that earlier post and I don’t want this to happen.
On the Options page I have the following boxes ticked: Top group (Usual settings) – first and third box. Middle group (Email prefs) – both ticked. Bottom group (Before a comment appears) – second box only ticked. Nothing in the boxes below the groups.

Certain options are conditional. To get an email on every comment, you need both:
* Allow people to post comments on the article
E-mail me whenever:
* Anyone posts a comment

Thanks, trent. I do have both those options selected, as mentioned in my original query.

My apologies as I mis-read your post. No notification from my comment just now either then? Have you double checked to make sure your email “spam” filter isn’t picking them up? Seems stupid, but did you double check to make sure the email address in your options is correct?

Email prog wasn’t open, it is now, comment notification has now worked!! What’s all that about then? I had a couple, including one on my About page, that did not appear at all. Thinking on, they were both from the same person, and he didn’t include a weblink. Could that be it?
