Comments not displaying…

  Hi guys,
  I have a couple of posts on my blog where folks are trying to leave comments but for some reason the comments are not displaying with the post. They are showing up in the comments tab on the dashboard, but for some reason aren’t posting to the page, nor being put in the moderation folder. I’ve never had this problem before and I wonder if you have any suggestions?

  I’m concerned that you state the comments are anot appearin in Moderation. Will you please confirm all of your Discussion Settings here are correct?

  In case this additional information is helpful I’m posting it for you. It’s possible you have accidentally closed comments on some posts.
  This page > Settings > Discussion
  Discussion settings is where you set up defaults for comments.
  We can also override the default settings and enable or disable future comments on any post or page.

  Yes, all the settings are correct. Currently I am not asking for comments to be moderated so there is no reason for them to be in the moderation queue. They are showing int he comments tab, but not with the post or page themselves.

  Thanks, but everything checks out in my settings. As an additional point of info, the names of the commenters are displaying in my “recent comments” box but not their comment. Also, the new comments are not displaying in the comments RSS feed.

  Thanks for checking. As you have not enabled these settings:
  3. Automatically close comments on articles older than __ days – This setting can be used to have comments closed on articles that are X days old. As an example, if you only want articles to accept comments for 30 days you would check the box and type 30 into the text field.

  And you have not changed Comment Moderation which has a few different options like:
  Don’t discard spam on old posts – When this option is not checked, comments that Akismet thinks are spam will automatically be deleted for posts published more than 30 days ago. If you want to see all spam comments go into the Akismet spam queue, check this box. http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/discussion-settings/#comment-moderation

  You will have to contact Staff.

  Thanks. Something is definitely wrong for when I try to post a comment it goes to a blank page and never loads. Ugh.

  I’ve emailed the staff, but in doing more research I am realizing that NONE of the comments submitted in 2012 have been displaying. When I go to the comment tab, I have no ability to edit, delete, or change the comments made in 2012. If I go back to my 2011 comments I can do all the above. Is anyone else having problems with comments in 2012?

  Wow! I don’t have this problem and no other bloggers have posted to the forum about it. I’m so glad you contacted Staff. Best wishes with this.
