Comments not showing

  Comments are suddenly not being shown, though the number of comments appears. For example, https://www.irlchess.com/2019/06/14/irish-championship-1976/#comment-152953 shows the post, with ‘One Response to Irish Championship 1976’ below, but nothing after that. I would like these comments to show (as they did until very recently). Thanks for any help.

  Please answer some quick questions.

  1. Is your site hosted on wordpress.com or is, it hosted on wordpress.org

  2. Is your site hosted with wordpress, or do you have a third party hosting provider?

  wordpress.com and wordpress.org are 2 different entities.

  If you use a third party hosting provider, then it may be best to contact your hosting provider’s support staff so they can assist you with this.

  1. It’s WordPress.com.

  2. The site is hosted by WordPress.com (as far as I know).

  I recently updated to add Jetpack.

  I see that you’re using a really old theme on your site. I’d first suggest trying out a different theme to see if that solves the issue. Old themes may have problems, and a way to troubleshoot that is to activate a newer theme on your site temporarily. You can use the Health Check and Troubleshooting plugin to activate a new theme only for yourself without affecting the live site for your visitors.

  However, if you keep facing the issue with another theme active, that means the issue is somewhere else.

  Does the comment show up on your spam/pending filters in the comments section on your dashboard?

  If none of the above works, please post on the WordPress.org support forum at https://wordpress.org/support/forums – folks over there are more familiar with the WordPress.org software (which is what your site uses).
