Comments not showing on Nishita theme

I have read about this problem and also see it resolved here:

However my problem is slightly different and so the resolution does not apply.
My problem is that comments will not show beneath photographs in a gallery inserted into a static page. Other than that everything is the same as in the above mentioned thread.
I see the comments in my dashboard. I have approved the comments. The box for “Automatically close comments on threads older than n days” is unchecked.
I use the page in question as a password protected client area – where a client can make comments on pictures or tell me which they would like to see edited.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Hi Jerry. Thank you for the offer but I have half figured it out I think. The comments actually do appear, but you have to scroll down to see them and there is no indication on screen that there is actually a comment there. None of which is a problem for me, because I know from my dashboard that there is a comment. But if somebody else were looking they wouldn’t see that a picture had a comment, hence little chance of a discussion taking place.
All that said I am only using the it as a place to showcase some photographic work, so not a huge problem. The link to the site, out of interest though, is iobphotography.wordpress.com

You don’t have a ink to a specific page do you? I would need to see it in action to propose a fix to the spacing issue you are having, though I am betting that once I see it it is probably an easy fix.
