Comments not showing up, unwanted ads are

People told me they sent comments but I am not being notified so cannot OK them. When I tried to post the comment myself, using the sender’s email address, I got a message saying the comment had already been posted. Also, ads are appearing on my site. This is a professional site and it is appropriate for me to have ads. I am astonished (outraged, actually) that I am paying for WordPress.com and that there will be no WordPress support until the 19th.

sorry–in my “outrage” I inadvertantly left out the NOT. It is not appropriate for me to have ads on my site.

Your “fascinating Terms of Service” say that WordPress.COM can put adds on your site to help pay for the “free” site you are receiving. They need to pay for what they are not charging you for.
You can however do a No Adds Upgrade (about $ 30– I think) to get rid of the adds.
