comments not threaded

  I have comment threading enabled (5 deep), but it isn’t working. My theme, 2017, supposedly supports threaded comments. Here is an

  Hi there,

  When I visit your site, I also see that there are 10 replies that are not threaded. But, let me test real quick to see if this is a theme issue or something else.

  Hey thanks! I think they are, they just aren’t displaying as threaded. Using the reply button after a comment inserts the reply afterwards, but doesn’t show the threading

  Hi again,

  After testing I see that the theme itself works fine for me, see my test site in the comments on this post here: https://testsite23456789876.wordpress.com/2021/01/26/school-fun-day/comment-page-1/#comment-3
  (Notice the threading on the reply to the first comment, and no threading on the two comments to the post itself. This is what is meant by the feature “Threaded comments”.

  What is most likely happening on your site is that there are no replies to existing comments so far. This is common as people generally comment on posts from their email inbox or the WordPress app, which creates a new comment to your post and not a reply to an existing comment.

  If you’d like, I can confirm this on your site by replying “test” to someone who has already commented.

  Sure, give it a shot! I did test it out myself, and threading doesn’t work.
