Comments not visible

    I am starting a blog.
    I have a new comment. I have approved the comment. And I have replied to it. Neither shows up.
    When I am logged in the blog says 2 comments under the title, but neither show up. When I click on the link it takes me down the page to the comments bit but there is nothing there. When I am logged out it shows 0 comments.
    All the appropriate boxes are ticked on my wordpress comments section and the settings section.
    I have searched and googled but cannot make any sense of this situation.
    I have checked out the settings according to this guide which the author states enables comments equally:

    I forgot to say that I followed this page and all the settings were as described on that page:
    https://wordpress.org/support/article/comments-in-wordpress/
    On the page there is the text ” 2 comments for “Scientific Revolution” ” but no actual comments.

    Resolved. It was a theme snafu. Changed the theme and it works ok.

    I wanted to clarify that since your site is using the WordPress.org software, the WordPress.org forums are a better place to post any future questions you may have about your site. On this forum, we primarily offer help with WordPress.com sites.

    Thanks aisajib. Got it. I do know the difference between the two but in my stress and disappointment that wordpress was ‘not working’! I did not appreciate that both had forums and I was on the wrong one. I did wonder why no one offered help on what I assumed must have a simple but counterintuitive problem.
