Comments notification emails to followers possible?

  In the docs it says, “If comment notifications are enabled, the post author will receive an email when a new comment is left on a post they wrote.”

  If somebody posts a comment and I reply, will the comment poster receive an email? Or am I the only person to receive email notifications for comments?

  If possible, I would like followers – or at least the author of a comment – to receive notification emails if replies to their comment are made. Otherwise the discussion thread is lost. Is this possible?

  I found a friend to test with. I replied to a comment he made and he did not receive an email notification. So I guess that answers that.

  How do you keep conversation threads going? :)
